Marken Design Studio has received numerous international awards in Passive House and Green Building Design; some we are pleased to feature here.

Energy Globe Award 2019 Canada

With 187 participating countries, one of the most prestigious environmental awards recognizes Canada’s Northernmost certified Passive House building located in Fort St. John. Completed in 2014, this first single-family Passive House residence in Canada uses 90 percent less energy for heating and cooling and 65% on overall energy costs compared to a standard house. Heat pump hot water, eco-friendly materials, triple pane windows, handicap accessibility, high-efficiency heat recovery ventilation and non-VOC products are a few of the extensive sustainable building features incorporated into the prefabricated wood design.

 

Canadian Green Building Award 2016

The Fort St. John Passive House is the British Columbia Regional Winner in recognition of excellence in the design and execution of Canadian buildings, houses and interiors based on the criteria of sustainable design, architectural merit and technical innovation.

Georgie Award "Best Renovation" 2013 - Naikoon Builder

A great end result with thoughtful attention to detail - with our renovation design builder partner Naikoon Contracting received the GEORGIE AWARD 2013 for best residential renovation; $300,000 - $499,000.
