Passive House and Net Zero Energy, North Vancouver
Progressive West Coast Modern Design
A green story by Marken Design + Consulting.
Custom High Performance Living in North Vancouver
Currently under construction, the collaborating n teams at Marken Design and Urban West Architecture have designed an innovative Zero Energy Residence in North Vancouver, Canada. The Variance Permit was approved on the height and FSR relaxation, given that it will be built to Passive House Standards and we were able to take full advantage of the sustainability incentive offered by the municipality.
The modern west coast themed design aims to meet both, the stringent Passive House and Net Zero Energy Standards, producing almost as much energy via Photovoltaic energy production than the building uses over the year. Also, excess energy produced will be stored in a powerwall battery and feedback into the electric grid. Later, when the PV panels aren’t producing enough electricity, the homeowner can use the electricity stored in the battery instead of having to buy it from the utility provider, plus this system provides back up power in the case of a power outage.
The design program features:
- Powerwall Battery System
- Modern West Coast Design theme
- Eco-friendly materials and products
- Aiming at Passive House and Net Zero standard
- Photovoltaic Energy System
- Triple Pane Wood Windows & Doors
- Ultra Efficient Heat Recovery Ventilation system
- Heat Pump Heat and Cooling Production
- Low Energy Infinity Salt Water Pool
- ..and much more
